During your flight

On long flights, prolonged sitting and dry cabin air are the two most common complaints. Compression socks, regular hydration and short walks along the aisle are the usual measures.

Mosquito protection

Insect precautions apply in the lowlands and in Chitwan, not on the high trekking routes.

Sun & heat

Snow and altitude together produce very high UV. Glacier-grade eye protection and SPF lip balm are standard trekking kit here.

Food & water

Purification tablets or a filter bottle are near-universal on trek, where bottled water gets expensive and creates waste high on the trail.

First aid

A compact set covers the basics: minor wounds, blisters, disinfection and a thermometer. Add your own prescription medicines in their original packaging.
